We do see teens!
We don’t see younger kids because our current office is set up to be an intricate sensory haven primarily for adults needing a gentler sensory experience. Our therapy rooms and waiting area are lovely but not child-proofed and potentially physically dangerous for our livelier curious loved ones.
-
We do! If you'd like to chat about how your situation might fit our expertise, we'd love to connect with you.
-
We are overtly non-religious in the services we provide. In this Greater Nashville Area/cultural buckle of the “Bible Belt” we’re aware that so many therapists offer Christian-based counseling, and we want to help fill the gap to create a space that feels safe for folks who want to know they won’t be pushed in any doctrinal direction.
That said, we absolutely love to help you connect with your own spirituality, and process your spiritual experiences. Many of our staff were raised in spiritual traditions, have processed their own religious trauma, and are so great at holding space for deconstruction, disillusionment, purity culture hangovers, etc.
We’re not against spirituality, we’re just truly open and don’t secretly assume we know what’s best for you. We follow your lead and consent on any religious/spiritual concerns you bring up and stay in our lane, which is whole-person therapy.

Absolutely! If you have a health savings account or flex account, we can run HSA/FSA cards just as we would a regular credit card.
Insurance
-
We don’t process insurance. It may be worth checking in with your insurance company, just in case - some plans may reimburse for out of network sessions or let your sessions count toward your deductible.
We can give you a receipt with the medical codes they’ll need if you have confirmed that they will reimburse you.
(If you have an HSA or FSA, we can run those cards like a regular credit card and provide any receipts the HSA/FSA might request.)

You’ll want to check in with your insurance company to see what you need in order to get counseling covered or reimbursed, whether in-network or out-of-network. Here are some questions to ask about your plan's coverage:
𖥸 Do they reimburse for counseling? For out of network counseling?
𖥸 Do they require a diagnosis in order to cover your sessions?
𖥸 Do they limit the amount of sessions they’ll cover based on that diagnosis?
𖥸 Do they require special permission for sessions over a certain length (for instance, 60-75 minutes vs. 45 minutes)
𖥸 Will they allow unreimbursed sessions to count toward your deductible?
𖥸 Do they require out of network therapists to submit a W-9 form in order for you to reimbursed? (Unfortunately, we don’t feel comfortable submitting these forms which have become a popular request of some insurance companies in recent years; submitting the W-9 independent contractor form implies to us that we have a financial or contractor relationship with the insurance company which causes us concern about confidentiality.)𖥸 𖥸 𖥸
It’s important to find out these details before starting therapy so that both you and we have an idea of the expectations.
Sometimes insurance plans cover enough sessions to give you coping skills to change outward behaviors, but not enough sessions to do the deep, healing heart-work we believe can sometimes better help sustain those changes and feel more like yourself.
There are absolutely exceptions to that, though, so again: it’s always worth checking in with them.
